Make Your Own DIY Poultry Seasoning plus FREE Spice Jar Label

DIY Poultry Seasoning is so easy to make.

Don’t you just love it when you are all set to make one of your favorite recipes and discover that you are out of a single ingredient?  I had that happen to me tonight as I was making my favorite Chicken Pot pie soup.  I had all of the spices that I needed except for the most important one – poultry seasoning.

I knew roughly what spices go into the spice mix, and I had them all on hand, so I tinkered a bit and came up with a poultry seasoning that smells just like the store bought kind.  It is simple to make too.  Also, poultry seasoning is used so rarely (at least by me) that it makes sense to make your own, instead of paying top dollar for a retail store that will go stale by the time you use it all.

All you need to make the DIY poultry seasoning blend are these spices:

  • 2 teaspoons ground sage
  • 1 teaspoons ground thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground marjoram
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Just mix all the ingredients and store in a clean, dry spice bottle.  This makes just a little over 1/8 cup of the poultry seasoning.
